Three Views of the Nature of Reality

"Take control of your inner state,
Change the illusion you create."

Consciously or unconsciously, everyone holds a particular view of the nature of reality. The above aphorism is either compatible with or in conflict with the view of reality that you hold.

If you believe, for example, that we live in a material world governed solely by the cold logic of the law of cause and effect, then the above statement will seem utterly ridiculous to you.

If, however, you choose to view the world as essentially an illusion in which human beings participate in the ongoing creation of a universal illusion, then the above statement will make perfect sense.

A Word on Forgiveness this Festivus Season

We shouldn't be surprised when those closest to us engage in unconscious (negative) behavior. They are generally no different from everybody else in the world, no matter how much we may love them. And we're all at varying levels of awakening after all.

When we are surprised, that becomes our own unconsciousness, perpetuating a cycle of--to one degree or another--violence.

The only way to break this cycle is through forgiveness. They truly do not know what they are doing. If the did, they wouldn't do it, because they love you too.

Mary and Martha on Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, let's all help out in the kitchen and may all of us give our loved ones our undivided attention.

Now as they went  on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, 'Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ok, I'll go first. My drama has been to allow my pain-body to take over my thinking in the context of a love relationship. No...
